Walt Disney World To Furlough 43,000 Workers After Coronavirus Shutdown – Forbes

Topline: After reaching arrangements with worker unions, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida– the largest single-site company in the nation– will furlough 43,000 more of its unionized workers in a bit more than a week.

What to expect: A cause and effect in Central Florida. With Walt Disney World’s massive operations, their closure and furlough means less business for smaller sized groups that count on the home entertainment giant, like restaurants, hotels and car rental business in the area.

At the time, Disney stated they would continue paying hourly staff members operating at parks and resorts through mid-April.
