Mother Nature doesn’t always have a terrific sense of timing.
An intricate low pressure system is expected to bring a one-two punch of winter season weather condition to New Jersey, just as holiday travelers head back home this weekend. Winter storm watches have actually been provided in parts of seven counties in northern New Jersey, where between four and 8 inches of snow are possible.
The National Weather Service cautions that projections might change and watches/warnings could broaden as much of the state could see a combination of snow and ice through the Monday evening commute.
“Those with flights into or out of the area on Sunday and Monday, especially from Philadelphia to New York City and Boston ought to be and expect hold-ups prepared for flight cancellations,” composed Accuweather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski in an afternoon projection.

Accumulations during this portion of the occasion are anticipated to be light, but the wintry mix combined with gusty winds could cause substantial delays to flight around the Eastern Seaboard.

evening. Part 2: Monday After a lull in precipitation overnight, things are anticipated to choose back up again Monday. With some cooler air moving in, however, much of New Jersey might see snow throughout the afternoon and night as a seaside low pressure system intensifies off the coast.
Winter storm watches are in effect in Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union and parts of Bergen and Passaic counties, where upwards of eight inches of snow could fall, mainly on Monday.
Elsewhere, forecasters say a few inches of snow is possible, though there’s lower self-confidence in building up snow as you take a trip south. If the projection holds, winter weather advisories would likely be released Saturday for parts of the state.
The National Weather Service prompted tourists and locals to pay close attention to the forecast in the coming days, as the storm is complex and timing and overalls might change significantly.
