NASA picks SpaceX to deliver cargo to the Lunar Gateway – Engadget

The area company will use a version of the Dragon capsule– various from the one it’s utilizing for ISS objectives– that can bring more than 5 metric lots of freight for its Gateway objectives. It will fly on top of the company’s super-heavy lift launch car, the Falcon Heavy rocket. Unlike current Dragon capsules that just remain docked to the ISS for a couple of weeks, the Gateway capsule will remain at the station for 6 to 12 months at a time.

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell stated in a declaration:

“Returning to the Moon and supporting future area expedition needs inexpensive delivery of significant quantities of cargo. Through our collaboration with NASA, SpaceX has been delivering clinical research study and critical materials to the International Space Station since 2012, and we are honored to continue the work beyond Earth’s orbit and carry Artemis freight to Gateway.”
