NYSAC decides to pursue ‘disciplinary action’ against Kelvin Gastelum, but UFC 244 bout will go on – MMA Fighting

“The Commission has identified that Mr. Gastelum made contact with another person while on the scale, an offense of the weigh in policy. The commission initially wasn’t definitive about Gastelum making contact with another person– his longtime coach Rafael Cordeiro. NYSAC authorities didn’t appear to take concern with Gastelum right away after he stepped on the scale. We’re making sure that not just does the fighter not touch the towel, but that no one else touches the towel except commission staff. It’s uncertain what punishment Gastelum deals with at the conclusion of UFC 244, which takes place Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
