Trump campaign blames protests, media for modest rally crowd in Tulsa – New York Post

Regional health officials in Tulsa have opposed Trump’s choice to hold the rally in their city while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

An outside stage was set to accommodate home entertainment for an anticipated overflow crowd– however Trump’s speech there was aborted when the masses never emerged.

“Radical protesters combined with unrelenting attack from the media, attempted to scare off the President’s supporters,” Murtaugh stated. “We take pride in the thousands who stuck it out.”

President Trump’s go back to the project trail Saturday is finding a smaller-than-advertised crowd in Tulsa, Okla.– and his aides are pointing fingers.

Campaign manager Brad Parscale had promoted more than a million ticket requests for the rally, but stated he expected about 100,000 to in fact reveal up.

“Sadly, protesters hindered supporters, even blocking access to metal detectors, which avoided people from going into the rally,”

campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said about an hour prior to Trump was set to take the phase at the 19,000-seat BOK Center.
