Online music service Bandcamp is commemorating Juneteenth and honoring the Black Lives Matter motion by contributing 100 percent of its music sale earnings to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. According to NPR, Bandcamp generally collects 15 percent of digital music sales and 10 percent of the sales from physical products.”We stand with those rightfully requiring justice, equality, and modification, and people of color everywhere who cope with racism every single day, including a number of our fellow staff members and artists and fans in the Bandcamp neighborhood, “the company wrote in a declaration announcing the donation on its site. Bandcamp also will be” assigning an additional$30,000 each year to partner with
organizations that battle for racial justice and create chances for people of color. “”We encourage everybody in the Bandcamp neighborhood to search for methods to support racial equality in your own regional community, and as a company we’ll continue to search for more chances to support racial justice, equality and modification,”the declaration concludes.
